Sangiovese, or the “blood of Jove,” is probably best known for its role in the Italian wines Chianti and Brunello di Maltacino. This wine exhibits the traditional elevated acidity, medium body, and bright red fruit notes. Judicious vertical barrel-aging has added a sweet tar and smoky vanilla finish. While fabulous now, be assured this "Super-Tuscan” will only get better in the years to come.
